چکیده

Abstract In the last decades, industry of HVAC&R has faced continuous changes trying to identify environmentally friendly refrigerants for numerous applications sector. However, amount low GWP fluids still available as potential is limited some natural and, among synthetic chemicals, hydrofluoroolefins (HFO). The knowledge thermophysical properties these compounds and evaluation their energy efficiency in experimental apparatuses essential properly address selection most suitable fluids. regarding wide majority HFOs, information on properties, especially blends, are scarce require further research. this work, an analysis possible substitutes data sets was carried out find which studies needed obtain accurate representation properties. Specifically, 21 pure refrigerants, overview thermodynamic ( critical point, p sat , PVT heat capacity speed sound) transport λ, μ, σ ) published peer reviewed literature provided. addition, a more comprehensive four (R1243zf, R1233zd(E), R1336mzz(Z), R1224yd(Z)), major efforts have been made 4 years investigate above Although increasing compiled recent years, present study indicates that research needed, only interest fully investigated (R1234yf, R1234ze(E), R1243zf), while other (R1234ze(Z), R1224yd(Z), R1336mzz(E)) almost completely characterised.

Thermal Decomposition of Lower-GWP Refrigerants

The use of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) has been widely restricted. They have been replaced with hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in order to protect the ozone layer. However, the leakage of refrigerant into air from active or end-of-life air conditioners has been a serious environmental issue owing to the high global warming potential (GWP) of HFCs. It has therefore...

New High Performance, Low GWP Refrigerants for Stationary AC and Refrigeration

In response to concerns about global climate change, and in consideration of probable legislation that may impact the production and use of refrigerants with high global warming potential, a set of new refrigerant candidates has been developed for evaluation. Some candidates are designed for stationary air conditioning in residential and light commercial end uses. Other refrigerant candidates w...

Performance of R410A and R22 Low GWP Alternative Refrigerants at Elevated Ambient Temperatures

Growing concerns about the global warming impact of refrigerants used in HVAC&R equipment are driving development and evaluation of alternative refrigerants with lower global warming potentials (GWPs). The Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) recently coordinated the Low-GWP Alternative Refrigerant Evaluation Program (AREP) in which commercial, university, and governmen...
